A little oil from my jar

I honestly had to title this first post as authentic as possible because this was my heart posture prior to writing and creating this blog. I honestly was afraid of being the cliché, “The Lord told me to start a blog,” kind of person and had to fight through that feeling many of us have of not feeling qualified to write on anything, wondering who would even bother to read this, and just like why me God? Something a lil less out there maybe…

If I am honest, I feel a wave of relief and peace. This press has been on my neckkkk y'all since I was in high school. Can you believe it? God has been telling me that He was going to use my words to bless people for over a decade now and I am just now being obedient.

I truly don't even know what this will become, but this post is my first act of obedience. It's me “drawing a line in the sand” of walking in disobedience and running away from calling. It's so easy to champion other people's vision, but what about the one Jesus clearly gave you?

The Lord has allowed me to have a unique upbringing. I am blessed to have Godly pastors who really love Jesus and His word, I am surrounded by the most anointed women you'll ever meet across different generations, I have and still work for women who are brilliant leaders, I have birthed three wonderful children, and have had to overcome some extremely difficult circumstances since a young child. So, as my inspiring sister girl Maria would say, “there's got to be some oil to pass on in the midst of all of that… you got something to give baby.”

So through this blog, I'll give y'all a little bit of the oil I've gained from all of these things as the Lord permits. I am reminded of the well told bible story of the widow with the jars of oil. Her husband had died, and she was left with debt so severe that her two sons were about to be taken as slaves to pay it off. She cried out to the prophet Elisha for help. Elisha asked her what she had in her house. She replied, “Nothing at all… except a small jar of oil.”

Elisha then gave her a strange but faith-filled instruction to borrow empty jars from all her neighbors, not just a few. Then to go inside, shut the door and pour oil from the small jar into all the empty ones.

Do you know, as she obeyed, the oil miraculously kept flowing until every jar was full?!

And so, here's a little oil from my jar. Though it may not seem like much right now, my prayer is that the Lord would allow what He has given me to flow into your jars in a miraculous way, helping you feel a little less alone, experience peace, and find inspiration in your purpose, whether you are a Christian or not. I also pray that he will send the right people to provide the jars for the oil as he has done for me.

I love you girl - May the Lord give us another cup of grace for today.

Though it may not seem like much right now, my prayer is that the Lord would allow what He has given me to flow into your jars in a miraculous way.

Your daily reminder to live by His grace, because it is enough.
